Havoc has released 'Absence'. The 18 seamless levels are well made and cover a wide range of scenarios. Virtually all graphics and sounds have been changed. There are many complex code changes like buying implants to improve weapon strength, switching to emergency power, passwords, diaries, shock barriers and exploding barrels. The log disc feature is very impressive too and helps to create more of an 'action role-playing' game rather than a straight shooter game. It all blends together very well. Available here.

Absence Released Empty Absence - New Exe Released

Post by Schabbs Wed Sep 10, 2008 4:24 am

Havoc has issued a new exe for 'Absence'. The guards have been made a little easier to kill.

The Absence zip posted on the Dome now includes the new exe. The link is still as in the first post.

Amazing and well designed mod. There is a lack of level themes.
    Anyways, I enjoyed it.

This is surely one of the best wolf3D mods ever.
Every item on the map and every details is carefully thought of, items and scenery very logically and realistically placed, cool story, nice art, cool coding features, consistent mood, puzzles.....

This is how wolf3D mods should look Smile

    This mods lack absolutely nothing.

    Absence Released Empty Questions

Post by stathmk Sun Jul 19, 2009 9:55 am

I read the "Read This" file in the game. So far I can make it to level 2 of Absence. How come I can't pick up the CDs and a lot of other items? I must be doing something wrong. What's this that I hear that you can use the computers in the game?

To get the message displaced from the CD's, you have to press the spacebar while near them. I find you have to be slightly away from the object and not right over it for it to work though.

I've found two CDs. One of them indicates that the password is 94276. I reached the elevator, but it just says, "Security Lock" when I press the spacebar. I tried typing 94276 in front of the elevator switch and computers. How do I get passed the second level?

There's a desk nearby where it asks you to type in the password. Just checked the CD message which tells you the password. It says you need a red access card too.

Thanks. The desk behind the glass on level 2 needs the password. The next level's password was changed by a character to 12345.
